Q: What is the Hot Rod Power Tour?
A: The HOT ROD Power Tour, (Created by Hot Rod Magazine) is easily considered one of the best automotive tours in the world and is a rolling testament to what HOT ROD magazine is all about. The 7-day, 7-city tour kicks off June 7th and will wind its way through the Mid-west and will generate a nationwide buzz in the automotive enthusiast market!
Q: What is the history of the Hot Rod Power Tour?
A: It all started back in 1995, when the HOT ROD staff came up with the idea to take a cross-country road trip with their project cars, and they invited all of their car buddies and anyone else that wanted to go along. The first route stretched from Los Angeles all the way to Norwalk, Ohio, and while there were thousands of participants along the way, only seven were die-hard enough to get inducted into the original Long Haul Gang (not counting the staff cars).
Q: What is a "Pro Tour" car?
A: The idea behind pro touring is to re-engineer almost every aspect of the vehicle to do everything it normally would do, except do it 110% better than as it was originally designed! A Pro-Touring car is modified not only to increase horsepower but to stop quick and corner fast. And best of all you actually DRIVE it on the highway!
